Simulation sessions take place every 1-2 weeks with rotating dates/times. Students will get together in groups and practice their interpreting skills by roleplaying as the patient, provider, and interpreter. This allows medical interpreters to make mistakes and learn from them in a safe environment while getting constructive feedback from their peers.
As AALB develops self-paced lectures and CEUs for the community, much of the content will be free to watch for members. Note: All AALB CEUs are free to watch until March of 2021.
Guest speaker events are held 4-6 times a year and will be presenting on topics relevant to medical interpretation. All guest speakers will be subject matter experts.
The AALB virtual conference will be held on May of 2021 and will be an event to network, socialize, and learn. We hope to have an in-person conference in 2022.
